Photographer's Eye
This project behaved as an introduction to the medium as well as the visual principles and thought process that goes into looking, thinking, and making photographs. I had to consider ways in which the photographic process alters my way of looking at and interpreting the world, the relationship between chance, intent, and result. One of the most important aspects of this project was understanding how the principles of the photographic process leads us to reimagine the 3D space of physical reality as it is rendered in 2D. Each image is a principle from Szarkowski’s The Photographer’s Eye: the thing itself, detail, frame, time, and vantage point.
